Kylian Mbappe Not Willing To Sign A New Contract With PSG

Kylian Mbappe, the star footballer, has issued another statement clarifying his decision over his future at Paris Saint-Germain after informing the club that he will not be renewing his contract.

The 24-year-old France international made it apparent that the club is aware that he won’t extend his contract following the conclusion of his current deal, which expires in 2024, in a statement obtained by AFP.

“I have NEVER discussed any contract renewal with PSG”

“PSG has been informed since July 15, 2022, of my decision not to extend beyond 2024, and the letter that was sent only served to confirm what I had already told them,” he said.

According to The New York Times, if PSG accepts proposals for Mbappe, they might receive more than £160 million for him, possibly even more than the existing record transfer price.

The prolific winger won his sixth Ligue 1 title overall and his fifth during his time at PSG last season after scoring 29 goals in 34 league games.

In addition to the likely loss of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar Jr in the same summer, PSG has already lost Lionel Messi. While Neymar might relocate to Saudi Arabia, Messi will join Inter Miami after departing for free.

PSG had been eager to provide him further incentives to stay on a long-term contract with plans, but his announcement now leaves them with little choice but to consider selling him.

According to The Times, Chelsea owner Todd Boehly will register his interest in the player this summer in the hopes of bringing him to Stamford Bridge.

Manchester United, according to Mail Sport, are also mulling a summer move for Mbappe, but will not make a bid until a full takeover at Old Trafford is confirmed.

PSG spent roughly £155 million to sign Mbappe from Monaco in 2018 and may now consider cashing in to get a return on their investment.
