Man St@bs Friend To D£ath Over N2000 Debt In Ondo

Monday Chukwu, a 34-year-old man, has been arrested by men from the Ondo State Police Command for allegedly threatening his friend, Kefa Ofando, with death over a N2,000 debt.

According to the Tribune, Chukwu and Ofando were disputing over money when the dispute turned into a fight, and Ofando was stabbed in the neck by his companion at Akintola village, Odigbo local government area.

While presenting the suspect to reporters, Oladipo Abayomi, the State Commissioner of Police, stated that what began as a dispute devolved into Ofando’s murder.

“On the 20th of September, 2024, operatives of the Ondo State Police Command attached to the Odigbo Divisional Police Headquarters, acting on a complaint, swiftly responded and arrested one Monday Chukwu, a 34-year-old resident of Akintola village in the Odigbo area of the state.

“The suspect allegedly stabbed one Kefa Ofando, aged 30, to d£ath while discrete investigation revealed that the deceased had borrowed the suspect the sum of two thousand Naira.

“While demanding the money a few days later, it led to an argument, during which the suspect st@bbed the victim with scissors on his neck.”

He, however, said; “Upon arrival at the scene, the crime scene experts recovered a pair of scissors, while a medical practitioner confirmed Kefa Ofando’s death.

“Investigation is ongoing, and the suspect will soon be charged to court upon conclusion. However, this underscores the importance of staying away from violent individuals and the need to act with restraint, especially when angry or under pressure.”

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
