Romans 1:1-7
Psalm 97(98):1-4
Luke 11:29-32

EMBRACING THE SIGN

As the crowd grew larger, Jesus said, ‘This is a wicked generation; it asks for a sign.’ The only sign given is the sign of Jonah. Our generation lacks the acceptance of the revelation of Christ; while Christ’s time had a sense of godliness, today we have lost conscience and morals. Jesus’ generation sought to follow Him closely, but now we follow men. If Jesus called His generation wicked, I have no words for ours.

Despite many churches and religious gatherings across the globe, wicked lifestyles persist. We attend crusades, revivals, and vigils, yet patriotism and truth are ignored. We line up at churches but remain notorious during the week. Insecurity, terrorism, kidnapping, fraud, and political deception plague us. We are heading towards chaos and doom. God help us.

As Jesus said, the only sign we need is the sign of Jonah—repentance and sincere heart change. If we change, things can improve. Only God can help us if we change our hearts and minds.

Let us cease to do evil, learn to do good, and avoid wickedness. Christ is the sign and image of the unseen God. Seek His face and His kingdom daily, and all will be added to you (Matthew 6:33).
