A woman embodies both beauty and strength. History has shown that when women are given positions of authority, they often excel remarkably.
Take, for example, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, a Nigerian-American economist and the first woman and African to serve as Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
Another example is Mel Robbins, an American author known for her bestselling book, ‘The 5-Second Rule’. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, the first female finance minister, (1979-1980), in Liberia and Africa’s first female president, (2006 to 2018).
These great women broke barriers and soared high in fields typically dominated by men—politics, finance, etc.
These women soared to the top and made significant impacts because they were encouraged to be bold, confident, and resilient. When we raise our daughters with these qualities, we empower them to reach their full potential and succeed in any field they choose.

Encourage Good Character, Not Just Performance and Appearance
While compliments are essential, we must focus not only on praising our daughters for their achievements and appearance but also on their character.
Good character traits such as resilience, patience, honesty, and determination are just as important as academic or professional success.
Organizations often seek these “soft skills” when hiring or promoting leaders, as no company wants a manager or employee who is rude, lazy, or self-centered.
By applauding and nurturing these positive traits, we help our daughters develop a strong foundation that will support them throughout life.
Ignoring character development may lead them to prioritize only their performance and appearance, which could limit their potential. It’s important to remember that poor attitudes have derailed many careers and prevented countless individuals from reaching greater heights.
