Motherhood: Prayer: The Foundation Of Parenting 4

Hello Great Mothers!

Prayer is our greatest tool in parenting. It should not be seen as a burden, but a lifeline that absorbs you when you fall, that points you in the right direction when you get lost, and encourages you to move on even when you’d prefer to stay still.

Every mother who desires to train her child to be a responsible and well-balanced adult in this present age of social media needs the help of the Holy Spirit. We can seek the help of the Holy Spirit through prayers.

The book of Psalms 32:8 says “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.”

We can always count on God to teach us the best way to train our children to be adults whose lives glorify the Lord.

In the previous articles, the ways to partner with the Holy Spirit through prayers to train our children were discussed. Another way is;

Teach them the Word.

Teaching kids the Bible at a young age is always a good idea. Children can learn to love the Lord at an early age if the words are brought up in a way that is both relevant and enjoyable. Never pass up an opportunity to teach your kids God’s Word. Whether it is by getting Bibles that are suitable for their age or by using hem in real-world situations. The opportunities may be when watching a movie or a TV program. Our goals for our families should be that our kids know the Bible so well that it becomes their go-to resource in every situation, whether it be positive or negative. This way, the word of God becomes their yardstick for living.

Proverbs 22:6 says “Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it”
