Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the senator who represents Kogi central, has brought her s*xual harassment complaint against Senate President Godswill Akpabio to the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).
She submitted her grievance to the IPU gathering that took place at the United Nations headquarters in New York on Tuesday, March 11.
Akpoti-Uduaghan had claimed that Akpabio had made inappropriate s*xual overtures toward her. This accusation came after Akpoti-Uduaghan’s public dispute with Akpabio regarding the seating layout within the senate chamber.
She faced a suspension on March 6 due to the disagreement over seat reallocation, lasting for a period of six months.
During the IPU meeting, Akpoti-Uduaghan expressed that she is pursuing fairness and support from global democratic bodies concerning what she describes as an “unlawful suspension” from the Nigerian senate.
A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
