The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, has commended the Renewed Hope Initiative, RHI, for providing financial support to families of fallen heroes of the Armed Forces and Police.
Aneke gave the commendation on Thursday during the second edition of the RHI presentation of financial support to widows of fallen heroes at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The event was attended by the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu*, alongside other dignitaries and senior military and security leaders.
According to a statement shared by the Nigerian Air Force on its official social media page, Aneke said the continued support for families of personnel who “paid the ultimate price in service to the nation” was significant.
“Continued support for the families of fallen heroes reflects the nation’s appreciation of their sacrifices and reinforces the government’s commitment to the welfare and wellbeing of those they left behind,” the CAS said.
The programme was organised by the Office of the First Lady under the RHI Social Investment Programme. It is designed to provide financial assistance to widows and families of security personnel who died in active service.
Photos from the event showed the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, presenting cheques to beneficiaries, with the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, and Air Marshal Aneke also in attendance.
The initiative focused on honoring the memory of fallen personnel while providing direct welfare support to those they left behind.
