Nigerian Boxer Slumps And Dies During Bout In Ghana

Segun “Success” Olanrewaju, a Nigerian boxer, passed away during a fight in Ghana on Saturday.

Olarenwaju was a former light-heavyweight champion from West Africa and the Nationals. At the Bukom Boxing Arena on Fight Night 15 of the Ghana Professional Boxing League, he was facing Ghanaian boxer Jon Mbanugu when he unexpectedly passed out.

According to reports, prior to the regrettable incident, he was ahead on points.

A widely circulated video on social media captures the moment he collapsed in the ring, further shocking fans and the boxing community.

During his career, Olanrewaju, a well-known personality in Nigerian boxing, won both the National and West African light-heavyweight titles.

With accolades flooding down from colleagues, fans, and sports officials who remember him for his commitment and influence on boxing in Nigeria and West Africa, his contributions to the sport have received widespread recognition.
