Oborevwori Promises To Consolidate Okowa’s Achievements In Delta State

The Delta State Governor-elect, Sheriff Oborevwori, on Monday, assured the people of the state that he would consolidate on the achievements of the outgoing Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

This was contained in a statement he personally signed in which he expressed gratitude to the people of Delta for electing him.

While noting that the outgoing administration had laid “the right foundations to build a Stronger and more prosperous Delta state”, he assured the citizens that his mandate is “for consolidation and growth, for investment and economic reform, and for making the youth the centerpiece of our policies and programmes”.

He said, “My goal remains to make life richer, better, and more fulfilling for all”.

According to him, he had learned many things in the last six and a half years as Speaker of the State House of Assembly.

“One of them is that I have learned the importance of setting the priorities of the government, communicating the goals and outcomes of policies and programmes, and pursuing them with relentless zeal.

“I certainly believe that my rich experiences in the Executive and Legislative arms of government put me in good stead to provide good governance to our people,” he stated.

Oborevwori, however, commended his opponents for their robust campaign and hard-fought electoral battle, saying he looks forward to whatever ideas and advice they may have in helping to move Delta forward.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
