Oyetola Predicts Tears For Adeleke This Saturday In Osun Election

Gboyega Oyetola, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, boasted on Thursday that following Saturday’s Osun State governorship election, Governor Ademola Adeleke and his supporters would cry.

In 2022, Oyetola, a former governor of Osun State and member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), lost to Adeleke for a second term.

Oyetola urged Osun residents to support APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji in Saturday’s election while speaking at the APC mega rally in Osogbo, the state capital.

He said, “I think today is a day of joy and we are grateful that today met us alive and well. You all have seen how our party is. The APC has followers. They have cancelled their final rally because they are thoughtless, now let us ensure that Oyebamijji is the one you all will vote for.

“On Saturday, who will you vote for? Look at who they field and who we field. If you close your eyes who will you vote for? Because of time I want us to remember the fact that voting on Saturday is a must for all of us. And for those people that have come of voting age, please ensure that you take your card to the polling unit and ensure you look for the insignia of a broom.

“Thumpprint where you find a broom and by God’s grace we will all laugh this coming Saturday. We will laugh while they will cry when we finish voting on Saturday.”

The repeated prediction of tears underscores the volatile and unpredictable nature of politics, reminding us that it should never be a do-or-die pursuit. Politics is a dynamic arena where leaders come and go, and no one is entitled to remain in power forever. Embracing this reality encourages humility, resilience, and a focus on service rather than victory at all costs. Ultimately, political contests should be about progress and unity, not tears and desperation.
