Police Arrest Suspect Over Murder Of Akwa Ibom Businesswoman

A suspect has been apprehended by the police in connection with the death of a businesswoman, Mrs Juliana Dimaka, in Eket, Akwa Ibom State.

On October 17, 2023, at 8 p.m., Dimaka, the owner of Testimony supermarket on Grace Bill Street in Eket, was strangled to death at her house.

A credible police source at the Eket Divisional Police Station, who requested anonymity, confirmed the suspect’s arrest to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday, November 23.

According to the source, investigators from the Akwa Ibom Command tracked the suspect to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where he escaped to avoid arrest.

The suspect was tracked down to his friend’s flat in Port Harcourt, Rivers, where he was hiding, according to a police source.

“We traced and tracked the culprit to Port Harcourt in Rivers State and arrested him and took him to Ikot Akpanbia in Uyo,” the source said.

When contacted, SP MacDon Odiko, spokesperson for the State Police Command, refused to confirm or deny the suspect’s arrest.

“I am not confirming anything to you until I’m able to get information on the matter. It will take me time and I have a lot on my table now, but if you have any information, send it to me, so that I can start digging,” the PPRO said.
