Police Arrest Two For Alleged Illegal Weapons Manufacturing

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have detained two suspects, Friday Aduduakambe and Iorwashima Iornyume, for allegedly manufacturing illicit weapons.

This follows a well-coordinated operation that resulted in the discovery of an illegal weapons manufacturing factory in Tse Akamabe, Kwande Local Government Area, Benue State.

In another operation, Adejobi said that police officers from the Delta State Command stormed an apartment in DSC based on solid intelligence and detained 32-year-old Prosper Akeni, a reputed Eiye hitman.

During the operation, authorities discovered one English revolver pistol, a Beretta handgun, two locally constructed double barrel guns, two locally made single barrel guns, one locally made revolver pistol, one locally made single barrel pistol, and 25 rounds of ammunition. The suspect admitted that the guns belonged to his cult organization and that he, as the group’s leader, was the caretaker.

Yunusa Haruna, a 25-year-old male from Bakin Turu Village in Kebbi State, was arrested on December 31, 2024, according to the police. He was arrested on suspicion of fatally stabbing his elder brother, Isiyaku Haruna, with a sharp knife in the chest. Furthermore, on January 8, 2025, another suspect, Abubakar Ummar, was detained in Zuru Village for reportedly stabbing Mohammed Bala to death during an altercation.

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun congratulated the operatives on their tremendous successes in combatting crime and criminality. He asked the police to step up their efforts to restore peace and security across the country. The IGP also asked the public to be vigilant and share useful information with the police in order to develop a community-based policing system.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
