Sanwo-Olu Unveils Three Road Today

Today (Thursday), Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State, is scheduled to open Demurin Road in Kosofe Local Government Area.

Two other roads in the Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area, Agidi and Church Street, will also be unveiled. Gbenga Omotoso, the state’s Commissioner for Information and Strategy, announced this in a statement on Wednesday.

According to Omotoso, the governor said, “It is all about boosting connectivity and making life more comfortable for our people.”

The roads will function as alternate routes connecting Ikorodu Road and the Third Axial Road. An key detour to Ikorodu Road from the Third Axial Road at Alapere Housing Estate is Demurin-Agidi Road, a major artery that links Ketu, a heavily populated district with enormous marketplaces and estates, to other parts of the local government.

It links Ajelogo’s Sterling Heights Estate to the newly opened Raymond Estates.

Omotoso said, “Given the volume of traffic emanating from its consideration as an important bypass, Demurin-Agidi Road deteriorated from increased and inadequate hydraulic structures which negatively impacts travel time.

“The deterioration also led to drivers and commuters facing hardship on the road. Given the strategic economic importance of these roads, the administration of Mr. Sanwo-Olu and the Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, approved the total rehabilitation and upgrade of the roads to a standard that will stand the test of time.”

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
