Screech, Then Silence: Actress Omeche Rushed to Hospital After Serious Bike Crash on Movie Set

Nollywood actress Omeche is recovering in the hospital after being involved in a serious motorcycle accident while filming on location earlier this week.

The crash happened during the shoot of an upcoming action drama in Lagos. According to crew members, Omeche was performing a stunt scene that involved riding pillion on a motorcycle. Reports say the bike lost control while taking a corner, skidded, and threw both the rider and Omeche onto the pavement.

Sources close to production told reporters that the scene was meant to be a “low-speed chase” but the bike hit gravel on the road, causing the rider to lose balance. Omeche was not wearing a helmet at the time, though the production had stunt safety officers on the ground.

She was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Lagos by the crew. Doctors confirmed she sustained multiple injuries including a fractured collarbone, concussion, and deep cuts to her arms and legs. She underwent surgery for the collarbone fracture and is currently under observation for head trauma.

The motorcycle rider, who was also injured, is said to be in stable condition.

The film’s production team has paused shooting indefinitely. In a short statement, the director said: “Our priority right now is Omeche’s health. We are reviewing all safety protocols on set. We ask fans and media to respect her privacy as she recovers.”

News of the accident spread fast on social media. Fans and fellow Nollywood stars have flooded Omeche’s Instagram with prayers and get-well messages. Actress Bimbo Ademoye and actor Timini Egbuson were among the first to visit her in the hospital.

This incident has reignited conversations about safety standards on Nigerian movie sets. The Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, released a statement urging all productions to mandate helmets, trained stunt doubles, and paramedics on location for any action scenes.

Omeche, known for roles in _Blood Sisters_ and _The Johnsons_, is one of Nollywood’s rising stars. Her last post before the accident was a behind-the-scenes clip with the caption “New role, new adrenaline”.

Her management team says she is “stable, conscious, and in good spirits” but will be out of action for at least 3 months as she recovers. They’ve asked fans to avoid speculation and wait for official updates.

We wish Omeche a speedy recovery.
