Seventh Richest Person In The World Worth $93b, Files For Divorce

Sergey Brin, a co-founder of Google, has filed for divorce from his wife of four years, alleging “irreconcilable disagreements” in court papers.

Brin who’s worth $93 billion, is the world’s seventh richest man, according to Insider.

The couple has been apart since December. Brin discreetly filed for divorce from lawyer and businesswoman Nicole Shanahan in January.

Papers filed by the billionaire businessman claim that specifics of the couple’s assets and how they would be distributed ‘are to be established.’

Shanahan reportedly started seeing Brin in 2015. The two later got married on November 7, 2018, in a modest ceremony. According to court filings presented in Santa Clara County, Calif., the couple has a daughter together and has been separated since December 15, 2021.

Brin asks if he and Shanahan can have joint custody of their daughter. He’s not asking Shanahan for child support and asking that she not be awarded it either, according to Insider, who previously obtained the divorce papers.

According to Insider, the court filings “emphasize Brin and Shanahan’s desire for privacy around the proceedings, and they have mostly attempted to keep the case under seal.”

Shanahan is Brin’s second wife. Brin’s divorce from Shanahan is his second; the Stanford-educated computer tycoon divorced his first wife, businesswoman Anne Wojcicki, with whom he had two children, in 2015.
