Based on initial accounts, it appears that the detained murder suspect was at his residence when he received a tip from a neighbor that his mother was being attacked near the neighborhood tavern.

The 23-year-old male raced to the scene and grabbed a knife right away.

He discovered the male victim and his mother fighting. Ledwaba stated, “He took out a knife, stabbed the victim in the upper body, and ran away.”

The incident was reported to emergency medical services, who then took the victim to a hospital.

“After being apprehended at his home, the (murder) suspect was accused of killing someone. Ledwaba said, “He allegedly also handed the weapon he used during the murder incident.”

Another incident is the arrest of a 15-year-old teenager by Vila Nora police in the Waterberg District on charges of stabbing and killing a 17-year-old male.

According to Ledwaba, the heinous murder took place early on Sunday morning in Phahladira hamlet.

“The police were summoned to the scene, and on arrival at the said tavern, the victim was already transported to the local clinic by the tavern owner,” Ledwaba said at the time.

“They proceeded to the clinic and, upon arrival, the medical examiner, certified the victim dead.”

According to a preliminary investigation has revealed that the 17-year-old victim was stabbed with a sharp object in his upper body. Police opened a case of murder and traced the teenage suspect, who was arrested on the same day.

“The motive for this horrific incident is unknown and the investigation is continuing,” said Ledwaba.
