Super Eagles Face Off Against Algeria’s Defensive Wall: Can Osimhen and Lookman Break Zidane’s Perfect Record?

Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman will face a tough challenge against Algeria’s unbeaten goalkeeper Luca Zidane in the AFCON 2025 quarterfinals. Zidane, son of French football legend Zinedine Zidane, has kept clean sheets in all his tournament matches so far, making him the only first-choice goalkeeper among the eight quarter-finalists to achieve this feat.

Osimhen and Lookman, both former African players of the year, have been in top form, scoring three goals each in the tournament. Algeria, on the other hand, has been solid defensively, conceding only one goal in its four matches.

The match is scheduled to take place on January 10, 2026, at the Stade de Marrakech in Marrakech. Will Nigeria’s attacking prowess be enough to breach Algeria’s defensive wall, or will Zidane continue his flawless record?
