Supposed ‘Dead’ Woman Begins Knocking On Her Coffin During Funeral (Photos)

Mourners and family were taken by surprise when a woman who had been proclaimed dead after a vehicle accident began hammering inside the coffin at her funeral.

According to the Daily Star, Rosa Isabel Cespedes Callaca died in a car accident that also claimed the life of her brother-in-law.

Her three nephews were seriously injured in the event, which occurred on the Chiclayo-Picsi route in the region.

Rosa Isabel Cespedes Callaca’s burial was underway last week in the Peruvian city of Lambayque when family members heard a noise from her casket.

When mourners heard noises at the commencement of the service, they were taken aback.

Her relatives, who had carried the coffin on their shoulders, quickly lowered it and opened the lid, only to discover her alive and looking at them.

Juan Segundo Cajo, the cemetery caretaker said, “She opened her eyes and was sweating. I immediately went to my office and called the police.”

The casket was picked up by her relatives and taken to the Referential Hospital Ferrenafe in Lambayeque, with Rosa still inside, according to the Metro.

She was put on life support after doctors found out she was showing signs of life, but she died a few hours later.

Her family is now demanding answers from healthcare officials to learn why she was certified dead “in the first place.”

Her aunt said to local reporters, “We want to know why my niece reacted when we were taking her to be buried.

“We have the videos in which she pushes and touches the coffin.”

Rosa’s family believes she may have been in a coma following the accident, which is why medics assumed she was dead.

The event, which occurred at the Lambayeque Regional Hospital, where she was first treated, is now being investigated by Peruvian police.
