Tenant’s Decomposing Body Found In Ogun Apartment

On Monday night, January 7, the swollen body of 45-year-old tenant Tolulope Olusanya was found at Madojutimi Abiola Way, Abeokuta.

The compound’s landlord, Adebesin Adebayo, had come to the Kemta police division to inform the police of the stench coming from Olusanya’s apartment, and Adebayo and other residents believe he may have committed suicide.

Confirming the incident, the command’s spokesperson, CSP Omolola Odutola, stated: “Worried about her well-being, the landlord went to her apartment and noticed a strong, unpleasant odour coming from inside. The door to her apartment was locked inside, prompting him to raise the alarm.”

After receiving the report, Odutola stated that detectives from the Kemta Division came at the spot and noticed that the flat was still locked, and the terrible stench continued through the window.

“The officers broke into the apartment and found Olusanya’s body lying on the bed, swollen, suggesting that she had been deceased for some time,” Odutola added.

A lack of medical equipment to avoid possible infection, she noted, was impeding efforts to move her body to the closest hospital.

“No immediate relatives could be reached,” Odutola added, referring to the failure of efforts to contact Olusanya’s family and work with the local health authorities.

The place was, however, roped off and protected while police officers carried out their investigation, she added.
