Singer and choreographer Peter Okoye, better known by his stage name Mr. P, has disclosed how he came up with the popular song “I Can’t Look Away,” claiming to have reconnected with some of the key creatives who contributed to P-Square’s success.
Speaking in a radio interview with media personality Steve Onu, better known by his stage name Yaw, the singer claimed that by bringing back members of the team responsible for some of the group’s biggest hits, he went back to the formula that worked for the now-defunct musical group.
“I had to bring back everybody that worked with us as P’Square, like Foster Zeeno, who was the brains behind many of our hits as P’Square.”
“These people have invested so much in me, so I need to deliver.”
Since its debut, the singer’s most recent album has continued to garner attention. Many fans have described it as a return to the sound that made P Square one of Africa’s most successful musical groups.
Davido, a famous musician, praised the song and called it a “fire” track on X, which increased awareness of its release.
The lead single from Mr. P’s upcoming album OG Forever, which is anticipated later this year, is “I Can’t Look Away,” which was released on June 5.
Twin brothers Peter and Paul Okoye formed P-Square, which became well-known thanks to hits like “Bizzy Body,” “No One Like You,” and “Personally.”
As we celebrate the success of this song, I pray for continued inspiration and creativity. May God bless every effort, guiding the hands and minds behind the music. I pray for more hit songs that will touch hearts, uplift spirits, and bring joy to many.
May each new project be filled with purpose, passion, and divine favor. Here’s to more chart-topping hits and a future bright with musical blessings. Amen.
Live with Purpose, Love with Passion. Remember to be happy
