Two Polish Priests Detained Over Alleged Child S3x Abuse

Two Catholic priests from the Sosnowiec diocese in southern Poland have been imprisoned on charges of child sexual assault, prosecutors announced on Wednesday, October 2.

This is the latest in a string of scandals involving clerics in the region.

Prosecutors opened an investigation into sexual abuse after discovering evidence while investigating a homicide-suicide case involving two other priests from the same diocese. Three persons have been detained, including two priests and a former priest accused of fraud.

“The two men have been charged with committing s3xual offences against minors,” said Jakub Seweryn, a prosecution spokesman. Prosecutors have identified the victims but are withholding further details “for the sake of those affected.”

This follows a crisis last year in which the Vatican accepted the resignation of the diocese’s bishop after accusations surfaced that one of its priests had allegedly organized an orgy with a s3x worker. The incident became public after the priest fainted during the occasion, necessitating the summoning of emergency personnel.

The diocese has been involved in prior s3x scandals, notably the case of a seminary director who was allegedly captured having s3x at a homosexual bar. In response, the new bishop announced the formation of two commissions in June to look into these ongoing difficulties.

Poland, a predominantly Catholic country, has had multiple sexual abuse scandals in the Church in recent years, including some involving minors. This year alone, the Holy See has announced the resignations of two Polish bishops for their roles in covering up abuse cases.

Pope Francis has prioritized combatting sexual abuse within the Church, implementing a “zero-tolerance” policy during his papacy.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
