Two Teenage Girls Dies After Taking ‘Blue Punisher’ Ecstasy Pills

Following the drug’s connection to the deaths of two young girls, German police issued a warning on Wednesday over a potentially deadly “Blue Punisher” form of ecstasy that was in use.

A 13-year-old girl from the town of Altentreptow passed away on Monday at a hospital after ingesting one of the blue tablets bearing the skull emblem of the Marvel comic book character The Punisher, according to police in the northern state of Mecklenburg Western Pomerania.

Police reported that two further youths, aged 14 and 15, were also hospitalized as a result of using the substance. A German man, 37, has been arrested in relation to the girl’s passing.

A 15-year-old girl died in the town of Rathenow over the weekend, and investigators in the neighboring state of Brandenburg are also looking into her death.

According to the prosecution, an autopsy will verify whether she also passed away after ingesting the substance.

The deadly “Blue Punisher” pill is exceptionally harmful, according to Neubrandenburg police, who issued a warning. “The amount of (the substance) MDMA in these pills is extremely high.”

It was further said that the region’s common dosage of half a pill could result in a life-threatening condition.
