Tyson Fury, the former heavyweight champion of the world, has declared his retirement from boxing.
Only a few weeks have passed since his second defeat at the hands of Oleksandr Usyk.
“Thanks to everyone who helped out along the way! Happy new year. Jesus is king now and forever”, Fury, 36, captioned the short video uploaded to his Instagram account to announce the decision
“Thanks; it’s been a blast, I enjoyed every minute of it” he said.
Prior to today, Fury had made several announcements regarding his retirement.
The anticipated bout with Anthony Joshua will no longer take place after the Manchester-born boxer lost his most recent bout to Usyk by majority decision last December.
