Ahead of the 2027 general election, Hope Uzodimma, the governor of Imo State, has obtained the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the Imo West Senatorial District.
In Monday’s APC senatorial primary, Uzodimma was declared the party’s nominee.
After serving as governor from 2011 to 2019, the governor of Imo, who previously represented the Imo West Senatorial District in the Senate, is looking to return to the National Assembly.
It is anticipated that Uzodimma will serve a second term as governor until January 2028.
