Valencia Set To Woo Super Eagles Striker Sadiq Umar For Permanent Deal

The Spanish team, Valencia, is determined to persuade Nigerian forward Sadiq Umar to commit to a permanent transfer to Mestalla after his remarkable showing on the pitch.

Sadiq arrived at Valencia on a temporary basis from Real Sociedad in January and has solidified his position as a key component in head coach Carlos Corberán’s tactical setup, scoring four goals across 10 matches.

The Nigerian striker played an instrumental part during the weekend, helping Valencia secure a surprising 2-1 victory over Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu, marking their first triumph at the venue in 17 years.

Captivated by Sadiq’s displays, Valencia has apparently initiated efforts to secure the player’s services on a long-term basis.

A report from the Spanish outlet Todofichajes suggests that Valencia feel compelled to win over the Nigerian talent to remain with them, even though their loan agreement includes an option to purchase.

“The Nigerian striker, who has fit well into the scheme of Carlos Corberán, has shown an increasingly competitive version in recent days, which has aroused the club’s interest in keeping him in the staff next season,” the report stated.

“Although there is a purchase option in the transfer agreement, Valencia consider it essential to convince the footballer of the project before advancing in any kind of formal negotiation with the donostiarra group.

“The sports management understands that Sadiq needs to feel important and with continuity, something he has begun to experience in recent weeks thanks to his progression in the team.

Beyond the athletic aspect, the club also aims to foster a stronger personal connection with the player, demonstrating to him that in Mestalla he can discover stability, playing time, and a perfect setting to revitalize his career. The coaching staff appreciates his physical attributes and capacity to anchor defenses, qualities that are not plentiful in the current roster.”

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
