Xbox Set To Work On A Smaller Device To Play Games Over The Internet

Microsoft is still working on a small streaming puck that will allow people to play games over the Internet, according to a new report.

The device won’t require any powerful and expensive components that power consoles like the Xbox Series X. Instead, it will stream games over the Internet from a remote console using Microsoft’s cloud gaming platform.

This will allow customers to play the latest Xbox games at a much lower cost – as well as be able to buy an Xbox while avoiding the ongoing problems that mostly remain out of stock and hard to find.

The company said it is committed to creating a low-cost way to console people, but that requires more work and plan changes.

“Our approach to Xbox cloud gaming is unwavering, our goal is to enable people to play the games they want, the devices they want, anywhere they want. As announced last year, we We are working on a game-streaming device, codenamed Keystone, that can be connected to any TV or monitor without the need for a console,” a Microsoft spokesperson told Windows Central.

“As part of any technology journey, we are constantly evaluating our efforts, reviewing our learnings, and ensuring that we are bringing value to our customers. We’ve decided to move away from the current iteration of the Keystone device. We will take our learnings and refocus our efforts on a new approach that will allow us to deliver Xbox cloud gaming to more players around the world in the future.
