2027: Your Recent Political Moves Lack Direction – APC Mocks Peter Obi

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticized Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, asserting that his recent political activities lack direction, principle, and consistency.

In a statement released on Thursday, August 28, APC’s Publicity Secretary, Seye Oladejo, declared that Obi’s political influence is waning, while the Labour Party—the platform he ran on in 2023—has become fragmented and without vision.

“In 2023, Mr. Obi emerged as a digital-era phenomenon, buoyed by youthful frustration and social media fervour. He campaigned on the promise of a new political order—one that would challenge the status quo and deliver a ‘New Nigeria.’ Today, however, we must ask: Whither Peter Obi? Is he now politically stranded or ideologically orphaned?” the statement read in part.

Oladejo contended that Obi’s recent partnership with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), described as a “still-born coalition,” portrays him as a politician meandering without purpose, driven more by ambition than ideology.

“Indeed, Mr. Obi may now be reaping the bitter fruits of political prostitution,” the statement continued. “Having, at different times, been in bed with the PDP, seduced the Labour Party, and now romanced the hollow structure of the ADC, he has left behind a trail of alliances formed not on principle but on convenience.”

The APC further downplayed the once-energetic “Obidient” movement, claiming it has dissipated without structure or lasting impact.

In contrast, the party highlighted its own achievements, asserting that under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC is providing practical governance focused on economic revitalization, policy reforms, and national unity.

“As we look to 2027, the question is no longer whether Peter Obi will contest,” the statement concluded. “The real question is: does he have a home to contest from? Or has he finally become what many feared—a political drifter, orphaned by the very movement he failed to consolidate?”

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
