38-year-old Woman Moves Into A Retirement Facility For A Slower Life
Deciding on the appropriate retirement age is crucial for a well-thought-out retirement planning approach. The average retirement age is 65 or 66.
A Chinese lady who had been a screenwriter for almost ten years in the film and television industries when her health started to suffer from her hectic schedule and heavy job made an unusual decision to move into a retirement community at the young age of 38 to lessen the stress of her job and other physical effects.
According to 6Park News, her doctors told her to ease up or else she would end up with more significant health issues. She turned to the internet to get information because she didn’t have any parents or other family members to move in with. She decided to take a closer look after reading an article about a retirement community and how serene and quiet life was there.
“There are two reasons why I chose a nursing home instead of a hotel. First, I was very curious about the nursing home and wanted to see what it was like and whether it was as boring as everyone said. Secondly, because I was sick, I hoped to have a place to rest, access basic medical care, and eat healthily,” she was quoted as saying.
She added that in her former job, she usually had to work late into the night, and as a result, she could not sleep well.
“I wanted to live a good life, slow down, and find a place to recuperate. My work and rest are very regular now. I go to bed around 9 pm in the evening, but I get up very early in the morning. I read books, write novels, and write memoirs for the elderly every day. I don’t feel lonely or bored in the nursing home,” she told 6Park News.
The ideal retirement age is a personal decision, and what works for you might not work for someone else. There is no foolproof formula.
