Angelique Kidjo Announces New Collaboration With Davido

The Beninese singer-songwriter Angelique Kidjo will soon release a new song called “Joy,” which features Davido.

The “Wombo Lombo” hitmaker revealed the song’s August 28 release date in a social media post on Tuesday.

She added that “no one could have done better” and expressed her gratitude to Davido for working with her on the project.

“This song ‘Joy’ describes who I am. It is coming out this Friday. Thank you Davido for bringing your light,” she wrote.

“No one could have done it better. We hope this song brings the world together for a moment of joy.

“I found the joy through all the pain. Through all the pain, I found the sun. Through all the rain.”

“Na Money,” the third track on Davido’s 2023 album “Timeless,” included The Cavemen as well.

Kidjo is well-known for her inventive music videos and wide range of musical inspirations. In addition to winning five Grammy Awards, she was named the 2023 Polar Music Prize winner.

The 64-year-old is thought to be among Africa’s best vocalists. Aside from her amazing success in music, Kidjo is an actress and activist.

Davido, on the other hand, has firmly established himself as one of the prominent artistes out of Africa. He has also won several awards.
