Pastor Oluwagbemileke Adeboye, in charge of RCCG Youth Province 1, has challenged churches to make community impact their growth strategy, arguing that social responsibility is at the heart of Christian practice. Speaking at the RCCG YP1 CSR Summit 2026 in Lekki, Lagos, he rooted the call in Matthew 25:35–36, saying that meeting people’s real needs is how the love of Christ is truly expressed.
The summit gathered pastors, ministry leaders, and stakeholders to explore how churches can move beyond Sunday services to become active agents of change. Adeboye stressed that addressing issues like poverty, healthcare, and education must be central to the church’s mission if it hopes to influence society meaningfully.
Assistant Pastor Martins Olusakin, who heads Province CSR, described the event as the launch of a wider movement. He said the goal is to reposition churches as visible forces of transformation in their communities, not just spiritual centers. He pointed to RCCG Youth Province 1’s track record as proof of concept.
Over the past 11 months, the province has spent more than ₦37 million to feed over 3,500 people weekly. It has also invested over ₦18 million in scholarships and back-to-school support, while funding healthcare interventions, skills training, and small business grants for residents.
National CSR Coordinator Pastor Detola Akinremi noted that church growth should be measured by both spiritual and physical metrics. He said CSR outreaches have led to a measurable rise in attendance, proving that community engagement draws people in. The church is now backing that with major projects worth over ₦1 billion, including a 750-seat theater at Redeemer’s University and a new ICU in Osun State.
Speakers agreed that churches should build lasting institutions like rehabilitation centers rather than limit efforts to food distribution. Sessions at the summit focused on prison outreaches, mental health, and sustainable empowerment programs. Participants left pledging to replicate similar initiatives in their own churches, signaling a shift toward impact-driven ministry.
