British Tourist K!lls His 26-Year-Old Wife With A Screwdriver

A British tourist is accused of killing his wife with a screwdriver in their Turkish hotel room, leading to his detention following a quarrel.

On Tuesday, November 14, at approximately 12:30 pm local time, the body of the 26-year-old woman was discovered in a hotel located in Istanbul’s Fatih Mevlanakapı District.

The deceased was discovered “lying in a pool of blood” by hotel staff after they reported hearing “sounds” emanating from a room. When medical personnel finally came, they declared her dead.

Examiners concluded that the woman had been killed with a screwdriver after finding cuts all over her body, including her throat.

Following their attempt to take a taxi away from the site, Turkish police discovered her spouse, 28, wearing a bloodied white T-shirt while they conducted an inquiry.

The British tourist admitted to the crime and claimed to have thrown the screwdriver into the hotel room’s toilet.

The suspect was questioned at the Homicide Bureau following his apprehension.

According to Turkish media, he said that the victim offered him narcotics the day of the attack, which started a fight.

He claimed that after their argument, he killed his partner by stabbing her multiple times with the screwdriver.

He said he was taking medication for “psychological disorders” in a statement to the police.

He acknowledged that he had hidden the evidence and left the scene.

The police were able to apprehend the suspect by requesting that the taxi driver go to the closest police station or police enforcement point.

Following his arrest, the suspect was seen being carried away from the Istanbul Police Department, seen in handcuffs and with his head held down in Turkish media.

The incident is still being investigated.

The couple was said to have arrived in Turkey on November 11 via Sabiha Gökçen Airport. On November 14, they checked into their hotel, where the victim was later discovered dead.
