St. Albert The Great.

The whole world is indebted to Hesus for His Passion, similarly, all of us are indebted to Mary for her compassion- St. Albert the Great.

Wisdom 6:1-11
Luke 17:11-19

Today the Church celebrates Saint Albert the Great, a Dominican friar, a philosopher, a scientist and a theologian who later became a Bishop,. A Doctor of the Church per excellence known for his profound study of natural science and Aristotelian works. He also taught St Thomas Aquinas who also later became a Doctor of the Church.

Today’s first reading from the Book of Wisdom tells us today that all power belongs to God. Our God has the power to do whatever he wills. He makes men great and also brings down the proud-hearted. He is a mighty God. In today’s Gospel, we also see the mighty hand of God in delivering ten lepers from their diseases but unfortunately, only one who actually is a Samaritan came back to appreciate God in thanksgiving for his saving works in their lives.

Do I give thanks to God unceasingly for the blessings in my life? Even if not an extraordinary miracle, do I keep to myself the movements of grace in my life?
Do I proclaim how much the love of God has healed, transformed, and given meaning to my life, or especially in today’s culture, do I stay silent?

We too must guide against this spirit of ingratitude. A spirit that does not acknowledge God’s wisdom and power amongst us. A spirit that does appreciate the incarnation and the passion of Christ. Such spirit oppose the whole significance of the Eucharist in our lives neither does it make us eucharistic persons. Let us give thanks and praises always for the gift of Christ, the Son of God, who has invited us to share in the eucharistic meal.

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution.”
