The suspect in the attempted assassination of Charlie Kirk, identified as Tyler Robinson, allegedly stated that he would prefer to take his own life instead of giving himself up to the police following a confrontation by his father over the gruesome killing.
The father identified his 22-year-old offspring from images of the purported gunman that officials had made public on Thursday, which prompted the parent to question his son upon his arrival back at the house, according to sources.
Robinson admitted to the appalling incident involving gunfire at Utah Valley University when his father inquired whether he had fired the weapon, yet he initially declined to hand himself over to the police, sources indicated.
He informed his father that he’d rather k!ll himself, which caused the parent to persuade his son to discuss the matter with their youth minister, an individual who also collaborates with the US Marshals Service fugitive task force, sources reported.
The minister subsequently contacted a deputy from the federal organization, and the FBI placed Robinson under arrest on Thursday night, sources noted.
Robinson, who previously attended Utah Valley as a student, has been taken into custody on charges of aggravated murd£r. Authorities believe he carried out the act by himself.
In the course of the law enforcement search for Robinson, detectives interviewed his roommate and discovered a collection of Discord communications from the supposed perpetrator to him in the aftermath of the sho0ting.
Certain messages directed the roommate to pick up a rifle and specified its location inside a darkly colored wrapped towel, situated along a wooded area close to the school’s campus, according to law enforcement.
Yet another communication from Robinson indicated that he had swapped out his attire following the bursts of gunfire, as stated by Cox.
Robinson had voiced his contempt for Kirk in the hours preceding the shooting, asserting that the conservative, a married father of two, was “full of hate,” officials revealed.
A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
