Computer-Based WASSCE Starts Friday, WAEC Says

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) said it would begin the Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (CBWASSCE) for private students on October 25, 2024.

The exercise is set to extend until December 20, 2024, according to a statement released by the examination organization on Tuesday, October 22.

“The examination will adopt the hybrid mode of delivering the examination, which implies that the objective or multiple-choice questions would be rendered onscreen and candidates would be required to give their responses on the screen, while the essay and practical questions will be rendered on-screen, likewise, but candidates would have to give their responses using the answer booklets provided,” a WAEC spokesperson, Adesina Fadekemi, said.

Meanwhile, the examination diet has included an option for candidates who choose to employ paper and pen mode for all examination subjects.

The Council notified all potential candidates that the registration deadline has been extended to Tuesday, October 29, 2024.

“Similarly, the ‘Walk-in-Candidate’ opportunity (for candidates who register 24 hours before the particular paper of their choice is due to be taken) will be open at the end of the registration,” the body said.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.

“A lot of companies have chosen to downsize, and maybe that was the right thing for them. We chose a different path. Our belief was that if we kept putting great products in front of customers, they would continue to open their wallets.”
