Diversion Of Traffic On Lagos-Ibadan Expressway To Commence June 9

The Lagos State government announced on Monday, June 6 that traffic diversion will commence on Thursday (June 9) at the Lagos end of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, disclosed this in a statement, according to The Nations.

He stated that the rehabilitation program will begin on June 9, 2022, and would last for six months.

According to the announcement, km 0-5 of the Lagos/Sagamu highway would be changed for traffic diversion as part of the rehabilitation plan.

He promised motorists that the expressway’s other lanes would remain open during the construction period.

The commissioner stated that signage and diversion signs would be placed along the route to guide motorists and ensure their safety.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, he said, would be on the ground to manage traffic flow.

Oladeinde also urged patience and understanding, noting that the project is aimed at improving the transportation system and boosting economic activity.

The Lagos/Shagamu axis restoration is projected to be finished in December.
