Eden Hazard, a former Chelsea star, is set to join Arsenal in a surprise move.
Arsenal is willing to sign Hazard, who now plays for Real Madrid in Spain, according to French publication Foot Mercato.
Arsenal has made the initial contact in talks with Hazard’s representatives and could complete a deal in the summer transfer window.
Mikel Arteta, Arsenal’s manager, is allegedly keen to add Hazard’s expertise to his front-line choices in order to help the Gunners become title challengers next season.
After joining Real Madrid in 2019 from Chelsea, Hazard’s career has been on a downslope.
So far this season, the 31-year-old has mostly served as a bench player for Real Madrid.
Hazard is rumored to be eager to leave Real Madrid during the summer transfer window.
However, Arsenal will have competition from Newcastle United, who are reportedly interested in signing the Belgian international.
