After a live performance in Lagos, musician Femi Kuti jokingly declined to take pictures with celebrity dancer Korra Obidi alone, saying he would prefer to avoid any online controversy involving her.
Recall that the controversy surrounding Korra Obidi’s dance tribute at Fela Kuti’s gravesite during her visit in December 2025 preceded Kuti’s response.
Femi Kuti stated that he already has enough issues on his plate and doesn’t need needless drama in his life in a video that Korra posted on her social media page on Friday.
He joked that even the gods seemed reluctant to permit the photo, calling on his older sister, Yeni Kuti, to participate in order to avoid any controversy. He also made light of the fact that it had begun to rain.
After her private live performance the day before, Korra captioned the video, saying that “Uncle Femi” did not want any trouble and that she felt honored to have met the two legends at Legacy Studios.
