FRSC To Impound Vehicles Moving Animals With Humans

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Ondo State Command has declared that it will seize any articulated vehicle observed transporting animals alongside passengers within the state.

Dr. Samuel Ibitoye, the FRSC Sector Commander for the state, announced this to journalists on Wednesday, March 26, following a discussion with members of the Ondo State House of Assembly in Akure.

He stated that all irregularities linked to articulated vehicles in the state would be tackled to enhance road safety.

He mentioned that efforts involving advocacy with enforcement agents regarding the behavior of articulated vehicle drivers were currently in progress within the command.

Dr. Ibitoye explained: “Enforcement is ongoing to address ‘mixed loading’ which is the mixture of humans and goods/animals.

“We are not taking it for granted; we will arrest and impound vehicles caught in such an act.

“We are collaborating with stakeholders in ensuring that drivers are cautioned and that they desist from the act.

“When crashes occur, you will think that it’s only the driver with his motor boy that is involved, but surprisingly, you will see over 10 persons in the vehicle, with cows.

“So, we are going on advocacy and enforcement; anybody that is caught will have his vehicle impounded and will be sanctioned accordingly.”

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
