Gang Who Killed Man And R*ped His Daughters Arrested

Three members of a four-person criminal gang who murdered Makanjuola Ogedengbe in Ibadan and gang-rap*d his daughters, ages 10 and 14, have been apprehended by the Oyo State Police Command.

The suspects were paraded before the Command headquarters in Eleyele, Ibadan, together with other criminals on Friday, June 16, 2023.

Speaking to reporters, the command’s spokesperson, SP Adewale Osifeso, stated that on May 14, suspected robbers attacked Apaataku/Onireke, Akobo Ibadan, and robbed the locals of their possessions while also killing Ogedengbe and raping his two daughters.

The same gang that invaded the Apaatuku/Onireke community was found to be Ibrahim Rasaq, Abiodun Olalekan, and one Abolade Morenikeji, who had previously been arrested in connection with an armed robbery operation at Sawia Estate in Ogbere, Ibadan, reported on 16 April 16 2023. Osifeso noted that the case was transferred to SCID Iyaganku for investigation.

The two dead man’s daughters who were raped are said to have been victimized by Abolade Morenikeji and one Sodiq, respectively. The community security guards engaged in the operation and killed the aforementioned Sodiq, the purported leader of the organization.

The community’s night guard, who is undergoing medical attention, was also shot by the perpetrators.

“On 16/6/2023 at about 03300hrs, one Adebayo Salami who is a major receiver/informant of the group and landlord at Ajara Olohunda, Akobo in Ibadan was arrested in connection with the case,” the PPRO stated.

“During interrogation, he confessed to having invited the group for the robbery operation at the Apatuku area where Ogedengbe was killed and his two daughters were defiled by the robbery gang during the operation.”

Abolade Morenikeji, one of the suspects, said that their gang leader Sodiq shot him while he struggled with them.

“Though I’m not the one that killed the deceased, but I’m one of those who raped his daughters. It has not been long since I joined the group, this is my second operation, it was the work of the devil,” he said.
