Google Executive Gives Terrifying Prediction For Future Of Technology That Could Ruin The World

A Google executive has warned that the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence could lead it to surpass all human capabilities within the next ten years.

Demis Hassabis, the CEO of DeepMind at Google, appeared on a Sunday episode of 60 Minutes, stating that he believes researchers are on course to develop Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) within the next five to ten years.

Hassabis predicts that AGI will become deeply integrated into our everyday lives by 2035.

“We’ll have a system that really understands everything around you in very nuanced and deep ways,” Hassabis told 60 Minutes host Scott Pelley.

Hassabis anticipates that by 2035, AI will possess capabilities equivalent to those of humans, and he foresees a “breakthrough in robotics” enabling robots to replicate human actions.

The AI expert noted that current technology has not yet attained “consciousness” and suggested that AI systems might one day develop self-awareness.

He further explained that if a machine does achieve self-awareness, it could be challenging for humans to immediately detect it.

“With machines – they’re running on silicon, so even if they exhibit the same behaviors, and even if they say the same things, it doesn’t necessarily mean that this sensation of consciousness that we have is the same thing they will have,” Hassabis added.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
