‘I’m Safe And Sound’- King Sunny Ade Debunks Rumoured Kidnap

Renowned Juju musician Sunday Adegeye, widely recognized as King Sunny Ade, has shared a brief video to refute rumors that he has gone missing.

LIB previously reported that the artist’s daughter, Damilola Adeniyi, expressed worries about her father’s whereabouts. Damilola claimed that her brother, who acts as their father’s manager, had “abducted” him and was keeping him confined in a secluded location against his wishes. She further alleged that Dayo was forcing their father to perform at various venues against his will.

However, in a video posted online, King Sunny Ade debunked his daughter’s allegations, explaining that his children assumed he was kidnapped because they couldn’t find him when he took a short holiday.

In the video, the 78-year-old music icon expressed gratitude to his fans for their unwavering support, emphasizing that no one had abducted him.

“My children wanted to see me, they thought I was kidnapped after I went away for a few days to rest. But I thank God, I was not k!dnapped and I didn’t k!dnap myself.”

Previously, Dayo issued a statement affirming that the music legend “is safe and sound.”

“There is no truth to the kidnapping rumor, and we are taking appropriate steps to address the situation and identify those responsible for spreading this false information.”

Adegeye reassured his fans and supporters that “the King of World Beats, King Sunny Ade, is not abducted or kidnapped by anyone.

“The Adegeye family and King Sunny Ade’s team are working diligently to put an end to the rumour and protect his reputation. The public can rest assured that King Sunny Ade is in good health and spirits, and his focus remains on his music and legacy.” he said.
