Just In: INEC Postpone PVC Collection Deadlines

The Independent National Electoral Commission has extended the deadline for collecting Permanent Voter Cards until Sunday, January 29, 2023.

The collection deadline was previously set by the electoral umpire for January 22, 2023, on Sunday.

INEC announced that the deadline had been extended by eight days following a meeting on Thursday.

The INEC National Commissioner Festus Okoye, said in a statement: “The Commission is determined to ensure that registered voters have ample opportunity to collect their PVCs ahead of the forthcoming election. For this reason, the timeframe for the collection of PVCs is extended by eight days.

“Instead of ending on Sunday, January 22, 2023, the collection of PVCs will continue until Sunday, January 29, 2023. At the moment, the period of collection is 9.00 am – 3.00 pm daily (including Saturdays and Sundays).”

INEC decided to shift the collections of PVCs from LGAs to the wards in order to reduce crowd clustering.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
