Kano Commission Demotes Court Registrar and Clerical Assistant for Forgery and Absenteeism

The Kano State Judicial Service Commission has taken disciplinary action against two judicial staff members for gross misconduct. Adamu Salisu, a Court Registrar, was demoted from Grade Level 13 to Grade Level 12 for forgery and falsification of affidavits of service. He was also removed from his position as Registrar in charge of High Court No. 13 and issued a strong warning against further unethical conduct.

Details of the Misconduct:

  • Forgery and Falsification: Salisu forged the signature of a bailiff and unlawfully signed documents as a Commissioner for Oaths.
  • Absenteeism: Yusuf Ayuba, a Clerical Assistant attached to High Court No. 8, Miller Road, was demoted from Grade Level 5 to Grade Level 4 for absenting himself from his duty post without justification for four months.
