Kylian Mbappe ‘Agrees To Forego PSG Bonuses Worth £70MILLION

Kylian Mbappe has reportedly agreed to waive large bonuses owed to him by PSG.

The French superstar had hoped to leave Paris Saint-Germain and join Real Madrid when his contract expired in the summer of 2022. He did, however, do a late U-turn and signed a new contract with the French giants until 2024, with the option of an additional year to 2025 that only he could activate.

Mbappe was kicked out of PSG’s team in the summer after informing the club that he would not be using his contract extension and would depart on a free transfer the following summer. He was therefore omitted from the club’s pre-season trip of Japan and South Korea, forcing him to practise with a group.

Mbappe was later reintegrated after missing the season’s first game against Lorient.

According to RMC Sport, Mbappe was only allowed to rejoin to the squad provided he agreed to forfeit bonuses owed to him.

According to the article, PSG first maintained that the only way he could rejoin Luis Enrique’s first team was to sign a new contract, something the forward refused to do and which he continues to dismiss.

As a result, they shifted their strategy, and Kylian Mbappe has already foregone about €80 million (£70 million) in bonuses after reaching an arrangement with the club following his reintegration.

PSG are still desperate to extend the contract of their talisman, who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid.

Despite the incessant speculation about his future, Mbappe shows no symptoms of being distracted, having scored 13 goals in 11 Ligue 1 appearances this season.
