Kylian Mbappe To Leave Paris Saint-Germain This Summer

Published on

According to reports, Kylian Mbappe informed Paris Saint-Germain that he would be leaving the team when his contract expires at the end of the current campaign.

Sky Sport reports that Mbappe informed PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi of his choice on Tuesday, and the team anticipates that he will sign with Real Madrid.

The two parties are still negotiating over whether Mbappe will leave for a fee or forgo his own wages, so the terms of the forward’s departure are not yet clear. PSG anticipates that Kylian Mbappe will honour his pledge to stay at the club long-term.

Once this is settled upon in the upcoming months, it is expected that Mbappe and PSG will make an announcement.

The 25-year-old forward, who would have to accept a pay decrease to join the Spanish team, has been sought after by Real Madrid for a long time. He was to become the highest-paid player in the history of the team.

In August 2021, PSG rejected a €220 million (£188 million) offer from Real Madrid for Mbappe. After that, the attacker decided to sign a new three-year contract with PSG, which runs out this summer.

In the upcoming transfer window, Mbappe’s value to PSG would be €150 million (£128 million) if he were to extend his contract by an additional year. Last summer, they accepted a €300 million (£256 million) offer from the Saudi club Al Hilal, which Mbappe declined.
