Lagos Court Orders Seizure of Pretty Mike’s Nightclub Amid Drug Allegations

In a dramatic turn of events, a federal high court in Lagos has ordered the interim forfeiture of Proxy Lagos Night Club, owned by the flamboyant socialite Mike Nwogu, widely known as Pretty Mike. This decision follows serious allegations that the vibrant venue was being used as a hub for drug dealing and storage.

The ruling, issued by Justice Musa Kakaki, emerged after the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) filed an urgent application to seize control of the nightclub, located on Akin Adesola Street in the bustling heart of Victoria Island. The move is part of an ongoing investigation into the establishment.

The situation escalated on October 26, 2025, when NDLEA operatives descended on the nightclub during the early hours, acting on intelligence about a planned drug-themed party. In a shocking midnight raid, authorities reportedly uncovered a staggering 169 cylinders of nitrous oxide—also known as laughing gas—and 200 grams of cannabis sativa. The scene was chaotic, with over 200 attendees, including Pretty Mike and his associate Joachim Hillary, taken into custody.

According to NDLEA representatives, lab tests confirmed that the seized substances were indeed controlled, and they claimed that the nightclub had long been a base for illegal activities involving sales and storage of these narcotics.

During the court proceedings, NDLEA attorney Buhari Abdulahi emphasized the urgency of the forfeiture, arguing that it was essential to prevent the nightclub from hosting further criminal activities. He also requested a suspension of all operations at the venue until the investigation reaches its conclusion.

After carefully considering the compelling evidence presented, Justice Kakaki granted the interim forfeiture and ordered that all activities at Proxy Lagos Night Club be halted. The case is set to reconvene on January 28, 2026, when the NDLEA will report on its investigative progress. As the case unfolds, the future of Pretty Mike’s nightclub hangs delicately in the balance.
