Man Who Was Paid Over 360 Times His Salary By Mistake, Refuses To Return The Money

What would you do if you received a salary that was more than 360 times your average pay? Would you return it?

A Hungarian man who was in this situation reportedly shouted, “Hell no,” to returning the money and is now determined to keep as much of it as he can. The man is from the European country’s Somogy County.

His employer, Kaposvár, according to “Hvg.hu”, allegedly paid him €92,549 by mistake.

The Somogy County Prosecutor’s Office filed charges against the guy when he allegedly refused to refund the money, and he has now been taken to court over the issue.

“When the company quickly recognized the error, they contacted the man and asked for a refund, but the man said he did not have access to his account,” according to the Hvg.hu report.

“However, according to a statement from the Prosecutor General’s Office, the defendant withdrew a large amount of cash from an ATM in Kaposvár and then transferred it into another bank account.”

The defendant is charged with unlawful appropriation, he is subject to a fine and is also required to make restitution.

With the help of the Kaposvár District Prosecutor’s Office, they were able to freeze his bank account and arrange for the money to be returned to the company.

This situation is comparable to the Chilean man who received 286 times his salary, but before the corporation could take any action, the man disappeared with the money without a trace.
