NDLEA Arrests 75-Year-Old Man, Seizes Illicit Substances In Kano

A 75-year-old man named Nuhu Baba was successfully captured by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Kano State Command during a significant operation in Tumbau Village, Gezawa Local Government Area.

In a statement released on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, command spokesperson Sadiq Muhammad Maigatari revealed that the operation had recovered a number of illegal substances, including Rubber Solution, Exol-5, Diazepam, Tramadol, and Cannabis Sativa.

“Upon investigation, Nuhu Baba confessed to the authorities that he had been engaged in this illicit trade for the past two years as a means of sustaining his livelihood,” the statement read.

“His case underscores the alarming reality of drug trafficking and abuse, which affects individuals across all demographics, including the elderly. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the pervasive nature of substance abuse within communities.

“The State Commander, CN AI Ahmad, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to combating these challenges and emphasized the importance of community involvement in the fight against drug trafficking.

“The NDLEA Kano Command continues to urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to drug trafficking.”

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
