Pastor Adeboye Recounts Near-Death Experience

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has recalled how bad road conditions almost killed him during an evangelism program seven years ago.

Speaking on Friday at the yearly Special Holy Ghost Service with the subject “Joy Unspeakable,” Adeboye disclosed that his health had gotten so bad that he had to spend Christmas Day of that year in the hospital for the first time.

A helicopter was rented to transport him to the RCCG camp on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, but criminals tried to stop it from taking off, breaking one of the windows in the process.

He said: “Seven years ago, during this same programme, my body broke down completely due to the terrible road conditions. For the first time in my life, I spent Christmas Day in bed.

“The devil was certain he had finally got me. I collapsed in Ilessa, and to bring me back to the camp, we had to charter a helicopter. I was too weak to travel by road—if I had, I would not have made it.

We give God all praise and thanks, for he alone is worthy. We thank God for his wondrous works in your life Daddy Adeboye.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
