Peter Obi Tackles Nigerians Who Protested During Jonathan’s Time But Have Refused To Do Same Now

Peter Obi, a former presidential candidate, has spoken to Nigerians who were swift to demonstrate against the state of the nation during Goodluck Jonathan’s administration but have opted to stay quiet about the difficulties many are currently experiencing.

While delivering a speech at the tribute night for the late Niger Delta leader, Pa Edwin Clarke, Obi stated; ‘’I listened to my brother Mike when he said ‘May the labors of our heroes past not be in vain’. I am happy that General Gowon and Jonathan are here. I can tell you that their sacrifice is in vain. They have sacrificed for nothing. We were in this country when people were protesting when there was no need to under Jonathan. Where are those protesters? Have they d!ed? Where are they? So why are we saying it should not be in vain?

Jonathan increased fuel from N87 to N120 and people were protesting in this country and when it was N900, they were not protesting. Are they de@d? So why are we saying it should not be in vain? People protested when $1 was N180 and when it is now N1500, they are not protesting. Are they de@d?

Let’s face reality, their labor is in vain.
We have a country now that is not democratic. Let us tell ourselves the truth. It is vain so that we can start picking the pieces of the things people have sacrificed for’’

“A lot of companies have chosen to downsize, and maybe that was the right thing for them. We chose a different path. Our belief was that if we kept putting great products in front of customers, they would continue to open their wallets.”
